2007 – 16 year olds have always had the internet.
2001 – News started using user content. One click publishing.
Cup stacking – wouldn’t exist without the internet or youtube.
Who is our audience? And is displaying video and online profiles self obsession or personal advertising? Or is it just a new way of doing what young people have always done in youth clubs or playgrounds? www.compkid.co.nr

Bebo www.bebo.com , now mobile enabled so young people can update their profiles.
Kate Modern – online soap with characters having Bebo profiles!
Kids organising against school closure on Bebo.
Habbo Hotel kids social network – www.habbohotel.co.uk
Facebook (www.facebook.com) – more adult, text oriented site. Allows high level of personalisation of content but not of look. Facebook Groups – must keep up to date and make sure it is about people. Interactive. You must be able take part. Something for nothing. Discussion topics that engage. Groups can relate groups to other groups eg. Illicit Still Pub group features things people talk about in the pub. Links to the local community. Relate groups to each other.
